James McPherson, a partner in the firm’s default practice, brings close to two decades of experience in the mortgage industry, specializing in MSR acquisitions and sales, foreclosure, and litigation. Actively involved in the ALFN industry group, James is a sought-after speaker on national industry trends and has played a key role in developing the next generation of industry leaders as a co-chair of the JPEG group.

Since joining the firm in 2016, James has successfully established and expanded the firm’s Arkansas practice, positioning ALAW as one of the leading default firms in the state. Additionally, he has played a pivotal role in enhancing the firm’s service offerings by spearheading the development of consumer collection and replevin practices, ensuring comprehensive recovery strategies for clients. James’s exceptional achievements were recognized when he was named a Mid-South Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2022.

As a partner at the firm since 2021, James has leveraged his extensive background in mortgage servicing to foster a streamlined and collaborative culture among the firm’s attorneys across various jurisdictions. This approach enables James and ALAW to deliver holistic and practical solutions to their clients in the creditors’ rights space.

James holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hendrix College and earned his Juris Doctorate, with honors, from UA Little Rock Bowen School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in both Arkansas and Missouri.
