Biography

Jim Albertelli is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ALAW. A seasoned attorney, entrepreneur, and legal technology innovator, he founded the firm in 1997 after practicing as an Assistant District Attorney in Georgia. He developed his expertise litigating in the state and federal courts of Florida and Georgia, as well as the bankruptcy courts in both states.

Jim’s influence reaches far beyond the courtroom. A serial entrepreneur, he has founded and led multiple companies at the intersection of law, real estate, and technology. He created PREO, the first eBay-style auction platform for distressed real estate, which helped launch and scale Auction.com’s early operations. He later founded PREO Mortgage, a multi-state digital mortgage lender and servicer that was acquired by Cerberus Capital Management and rebranded as FirstKey Lending. He also served as Co-Founder and CEO of Brightline Title, Closings and Escrow, leading the company through a successful exit.

Today, Jim continues to drive innovation through a portfolio of companies he founded. InfoEx is a fully integrated bankruptcy servicing platform that automates core workflows for mortgage servicers, running entirely within a client’s firewall for maximum security and operational efficiency. Oversite Data Services provides proprietary litigation management and analytics tools to corporate counsel nationwide. Alita Group is a technology company focused on reducing the cost of homeownership through innovative mortgage and real estate solutions. And Link Title, a national title and settlement services company. Most recently, he served as CEO of Voxtur, a publicly traded real estate technology company focused on advancing data analytics across the lending lifecycle. He also holds a patent on pre-foreclosure distressed-asset auctions, underscoring his long-standing commitment to innovation in the default-servicing industry.

His academic contributions are equally notable. Jim serves as an Adjunct Professor at Emory University School of Law, where he teaches Litigation Analytics, a course spanning case assessment, legal prediction, option pricing theory, and data-driven case prosecution. He also serves on the Emory Law Advisory Board, the dean’s principal advisory body, supporting strategic planning, policy development, and community engagement on behalf of the school. Earlier in his career, he taught residential and commercial real estate law at Florida Coastal School of Law.

Jim is an active voice in the mortgage and real estate industries at the national level. He serves on the MBA’s MORPAC Steering Committee and is a member of the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. His industry contributions have been recognized with a HousingWire Vanguard Award and a PROGRESS in Lending Thought Leader Award, among other honors.

As a philanthropist, Jim is dedicated to many charities, including Feeding America, Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, The Navy Seal Foundation, and his nonprofit entity Hero Flight, Inc.
